Good Evening Robert Little Families!

(Please read to the bottom of this email for important messages and attachments)

Happy New Year!  We have made it to 2020 and are ready to see things clearly now!

This week we got right back into the swing of things!  Our Choir has been preparing for their presentation this weekend at The Knox Church. Board Game clubs are up and running and filled to the brim with hopeful winners! The snow that started our week was a great platform for riding on sleds and building towers, most of that is gone now and we hope the major rain this weekend is all gone for Monday. Our students have red cheeks from playing and having a wonderful time.  It is great to be back at school!

Registration for JK/SK 2020-2021 Open Now!

Calling all 3 and 4 year olds!  It is time to register for Kindergarten!

Families are welcomed to come to the school during regular hours (Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30) to register your child for school.  Families will be required to produce a birth certificate and 2 pieces of proof of address in order to register.

Need an evening to register your child?  We will be open for late night registrations on:

Monday January 13th from 4:30-7:00

Wednesday January 29th from 4:30-7:00

School Council

A reminder to all families that Monday January 13th is our next School Council evening.  We begin at 7:00 PM and the meeting is for approximately an hour to an hour and a half. ALL Robert Little Families are welcome to attend.

We are looking forward to hearing from Mrs Brake and Mrs Mattocks our Parent Reps for the Acton Program Review who will update us on the progress and answer any of the questions you may have.

Lockdown Practice Planned

One day next week we will be holding our first lockdown drill of the school year. Teachers will be having age-appropriate discussions with their classes about the drill, expectations during it, and to remind students that we practice these drills to make sure everyone is safe in the building. Please take some time to have a discussion with your child about a lockdown drill. Please let Mr. Dykstra know if you have any questions regarding this matter.

Acton Program Review Public Meeting

A reminder to our families that the Public Meeting to hear about the proposed adjustment to our Acton Schools is on January 14th at Acton District High School beginning at 7:00 PM.  All Acton Community members are welcome to attend and hear the proposed plans.

Attention Grade One Families

Are you considering French Immersion for your Grade One child?

Registration is open now!  Please be sure to submit your registration by January 30th as this is when the option for French Immersion closes.

Do you know any Grade One Families who attend other schools (Private, Public, Catholic etc..) who may be interested in signing up for French Immersion?  Registration closes for them on January 30th as well! Please let them know that if they're interested, all applications must be in at our Main Office by the end of the month!

Please keep safe this weekend as the weather sounds horrible!
