Good Evening Robert Little Families!

(Please read to the bottom of this email for important messages and attachments)

We have had an eventful week at Robert Little!  Our Grade 5 Students enjoyed using cameras and learning about photography with the Focus on Nature Workshops. We are very excited to see their photos!  The warm weather has brought out lots of caterpillars and bugs that our students have enjoyed building homes for, we hope that Fall lasts a few weeks longer!

Update on Your School Council

The First meeting on your Robert Little School Council was last Monday.  We have a powerful group of parents who have some great goals for supporting our students and families this year.

We are interested in surveying our families to review our Food Fundraisers and see how we can accommodate for dietary restrictions and aversions. We do not want children to be left out of our special days due to a food intolerance, yet we also need to review the cost to families and feasibility of our providers in creating additional choices. Families can expect a survey to come home soon.

Our School Council will be looking into entering Robert Little into the Acton Christmas Parade.  The theme is the Magic of Christmas and one of our School Choir’s will entertain on the parade route.  More info to come!

We Scare Hunger

Our Me to We Club is currently running our Food Drive for We Scare Hunger!  We ask our families to send in any non-perishable items for our collection display.  Our goal is to fill the Display Case in our front hall with donations. We need your help to make this goal a reality!

Remembrance Day

November 11th is coming up quickly.  As the date falls on a Sunday this year we wanted to ensure of families are aware of the Parade and Ceremony from The Olde Hide House to the Acton Cenotaph.  Parade begins at 10 AM, the Ceremony begins at 10:30 AM.

We have been asked to have a student carry the Robert Little Wreath in the Parade.  Usually, we handle this as a school, but due to this being a weekend, we are hoping there is a family who would like to volunteer to represent us in this important event.  If your family is interested, please email Mrs Golightly ( before October 30.  If there is more than one family interested, we will do a random draw to choose the representative.

In Partnership,
