Good Evening Robert Little Families!

(Please read to the bottom of this email for important messages and attachments)

We had a wonderful Show Week for our musical At the Bandstand.  A huge congratulations to all the students who participated in this annual Spring Celebration. We had a sell out crowd for our finger snapping, foot tapping, rocking good time!

Our Open Doors

We pride ourselves at Robert Little for having open doors and open minds for our families to address questions and receive feedback.  We are grateful to our families who come to us and seek out answers, clarify our processes and confirm their questions. We want to ensure all our families know that our doors are open, anytime.  It is only through our collaboration and positive actions that we are able to work together to make our school and our community as best as it can be.

Grade 3 EQAO

The Grade 3 students will be participating in the EQAO Provincial Assessment next week on Tuesday May 28th, Wednesday May 29th, and Thursday May 30th. There are 6 sections in the assessment (4 Language and 2 Math) and they will be writing 2 sections a day. If you have any questions regarding EQAO, please contact your child’s teacher. More information can be found about EQAO at www.eqao.com

Volunteer Tea

Wednesday, May 22nd will be our Volunteer Tea in our Library Learning Commons from 1:00-2:00.  Invitations were sent home via email, but for any parent who have volunteered this year we want to ensure you have received your invite! If you are able to come, we do hope you can drop in for this event. We could not do the things we do without all the support and help from our parent volunteers.

Lost and Found

Thank you to all the families that visited the Lost and Found table while here for the At the Bandstand musical this week. The table will remain out next week until Friday, May 24 and all leftover items will be donated.

Jump Rope For Heart

Once again Robert Little will be participating in the Heart and Stroke Jump Rope For Heart to promote healthy and active living while benefiting those in need and who may one day be in need. Fundraising will begin right away with the event taking place on Friday, May 24th during periods 5 & 6 (Rain Date Friday May 30th).

Our School Goal is $5000.00, last year Robert Little raised over $6,400.00.  Please go over safe fundraising practices with your children (no unsupervised door to door, etc)  Donations are being accepted online at www.jumpropeforheart.ca and you can also find details for online sponsorship, prizes and much more! Please return the donation envelopes by the day of the event on Friday, May 24th.

Rafiki Bracelets - Me to We Club Rafiki Sales

At the beginning of the year, The Me to We students decided they wanted to sell rafiki bracelets as one of our fundraisers for the year.  They have been working hard making posters and writing morning announcements!

Rafiki Bracelets are inspired by Maasai beading traditions in Kenya, handmade with love by women we know as mamas—extraordinary, talented women who are beading their way to a brighter future for themselves and their families.

The bracelets will be sold for the month of May through CashOnline are $10-$15 each and will take about 2 weeks to arrive. With every Rafiki bracelet purchased, Robert Little's Me to We Club will be directing the money towards our pillar —education opportunities in India.
